MAC: Face and Body Foundation; My First Review!

After my recent trip to London with Steph, I have a few products lined up to review, plus a face mask that I was sent from Cosmo! as a tester.

MAC: F
ace and Body Foundation (shade C3)
Price: £23 for 120ml.

This was an exciting purchase for me on two accounts- my first MAC product and my first purchase from Selfridges, so I was rather excited when I bought it.

I am a sucker for a pretty box and have been known to buy (A LOT!!) of things because of the packaging.

The packaging is simple, being just black with white writing on, yet it is really effective and gives the impression it was a lot more money than what it was and it also gives it a certain 'je ne sais quoi.'

The actual size of the bottle surprised me, I wasn't expecting it to be that big! By the look of it, its going to last me a hell of a long time... hopefully until the next time I go to London which is near Christmas :)

The texture of the foundation is quite watery, which makes sense as the website states it is "
A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides natural coverage for face and/or body"- MAC website here. I have been using a sponge applicator to put it on my face, and I think it goes on pretty well as it is covering my blemishes that I don't want the world to see; without it looking like it is caked on my face which is SUCH a sexy look... NOT.

Lasting wise, I am hoping its going to last me a long time, I mean it is HUGE compared to the other MAC foundations. For during the day, I have found that even though I have only been using it for a few days, it lasts for a good part of the day, however due to me getting a little bit sweaty on the tube in London, I did have to apply my powder a couple of times during the day to take the 'shine on' away.
But like I said, I haven't been using it long, so my skin just may need to get used to it.

Overall, I would rate this product 4*, and that is only due to the fact that I had to re-apply my powder during the day, but as I said, that could be due to the weather and how humid it was.

I find the MAC F+B foundation too sheer and shiny. I think it's good for if you're going to the beach or don't want to look like you've got much makeup on, or for applying to limbs on a night out, but I find the studio fix to be so much better in terms of finish and coverage.

sorry I didnt see that you had posted Jessica! Thanks for reading my blog- I appreciate your opinion.

As I have carried on using the product, I think I have to agree with you. I recently went to Harevy Nicks in Leeds and had a chat to the make up lady on the MAC counter, and I have found a more suitable foundation for my face. The face and body if better for other parts of your body, but I have found it to make my face go quite oily when wearing it.

Instead I have purchased the MAC Select SPF 15 foundation in NW20; this is sooo much better and doesnt make me get that lovely shiny look that I HATE getting.

Thanks for the comment! :)
